El Salvador has several advantages because of its positive growth in a dynamic and progressive economy.
It has attractive characteristics such as economic, political and social stability; an economy based on U.S. dollar; free transference of capital and utilities; and an international financial base. In addition, its strategic location in the heart of Central America grants the country a privileged position for communications with the countries of the region.
The telecommunications service is available everywhere in the country; its growing rate is a result of the constant up-to-date of the foreign companies installed in the country and also because of the latest generation in technology in the private system.
FINANCIAL SYSTEM: Nowadays, El Salvador has the most important banks of the region: HSBC, Scotiabank, Citibank, Cuscatlán Bank, Banco Hipotecario, Bank of Central America, and others.
On January 1st 2001, the U.S.A. dollar became the official currency, and it is now the legal and unique currency in the country. The Salvadoran colones do not circulate anymore.
