Description
ROUTE OF PRE-COLUMBIAN VILLAGES
Travel back in time through villages rich in indigenous and colonial heritage. We begin in western El Salvador, passing historic churches from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Our first stop is Nahuizalco, whose name means «the four Izalcos» in Nahuat. This indigenous-colonial town is known for its basketry and wood crafts, perfect for picking up authentic souvenirs.
Next, we visit Juayúa, or «River of purple orchids», a town with deep roots in coffee production, which played a key role in the country’s economy for over a century.
We continue to the lovely town of Apaneca, where we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch. Finally, we head to the vibrant village of Concepción de Ataco, filled with murals and color. Here, we’ll visit a coffee plantation to observe the process from bean to cup. Return to your hotel.
