CRATER EL BOQUERÓN & JOYA DE CERÉN
We begin with a scenic drive to the San Salvador Volcano, also known as Quetzaltepeque, where we’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. At the summit lies El Boquerón Crater, an enormous volcanic crater with a smaller crater at its center, called El Boqueroncito, formed after the 1917 eruption.

Next, we’ll explore the northern slope of the volcano to observe the lava flow from that historic eruption. We then continue to the extraordinary Joya de Cerén, a preserved Maya village buried by volcanic ash. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a rare glimpse into the everyday life of ordinary Maya people. Return to your hotel.
